Hitachi High Tech America has announced that some of its older instruments will be put on the "restricted support" list due to a lack of some replacement parts. Hitachi will continue to honor service agreements as long as replacement parts are available. Most of these instruments were manufactured in the 1990's, and early 2000's. Oberkochen, Germany based Zeiss has recently debuted a VR-based microscopy training program. Developed in partnership with two UK institutions, Durham University and University of Glasgow, the program involves VR, hands on learning, and expert lectures. Maryland Based Bruker corporation has acquired 60% ownership of the Switzerland based company TOFWERK AG, whose primary focus is on time of flight mass spectrometry.
