Oxford Instruments Asylum Research has released the Vero, the first AFM equipped with Quadrature Phase Differential Interferometry (QPDI) cantilever sensing technology.
Because the new QDPI detector directly measures tip displacement, Oxford claims increased sensitivity and a reduction in artifacts from conventional AFM sensing technology. Oxford also claims materials like hafnia, and other mnaterials with an ultra-low piezoelectric resonse can now be accurately characterized using the Vero.
