Zeiss Research Microscopy Systems has released the Lattice SIM family of light microscopes which use structured illumination to overcome the normal resolution limitations inherent in this type of microscope.
The Lattice SIM microscopes use a lattice spot pattern in their structured illumination rather than grid lines, which Zeiss claims to increase contrast and requires half the light exposure which results in faster imaging speed.
